Planning a mesh trail-camera network
Start with the map. Mark where you need eyes — gateways, field boundaries, woodland edges, the yard — and where you can put the single uplink gateway (somewhere with 4G/5G signal or broadband). The cameras then fill in between, relaying back to that gateway, so you're designing coverage and hop paths rather than worrying about signal at every individual camera.
Then size the power and the data. Each camera runs on solar and battery, so position panels for winter sun.
