What SIM and data plan do I need?

The cameras run happily on EE, Vodafone, O2 or Three, so you can match the network to whichever has the strongest bars on your land. Fit your own unlocked data SIM or take a pre-configured one from us. Most rural sites find 20–50 GB a month is plenty for continuous live streaming and cloud backup, and you can stretch that much further by recording only when motion is detected.

Some models add dual-SIM failover, quietly switching to a second network the moment your main signal falters. That's a real comfort on remote ground, where coverage from one provider can be patchy while another holds firm a field away.

Will it keep working through a run of dull days?

Yes — a fully charged battery typically carries on recording for 3–5 days without meaningful sun in winter, depending on how hard the camera is working and the local weather.

Which SIM card should I put in it?

Any UK data SIM with around 20 GB a month or more is fine. We can send one ready-configured, or you're welcome to fit your own.

Can I keep an eye on it from my phone?

You can — both live and recorded footage feed straight to our free app on iPhone and Android, wherever you happen to be.

Do I need planning permission for a solar camera pole?

Temporary poles under about 6 metres usually don't, but it's worth a quick word with your local authority for anything permanent or on a listed building.

What will it cost me to run each month?

Only your data SIM — usually somewhere between £10 and £25 a month. There's no electricity bill and no line rental, since nothing is plugged into the grid.

Can I add more cameras across the farm later on?

Easily. Each solar unit stands alone with its own SIM, and you can roll out as many as you like while managing the whole lot from one app.

What if someone interferes with the camera?

It pings an alert straight to your phone the moment it picks up movement or tampering, and because everything is already backed up to the cloud, the footage is safe regardless.
