Watching wildlife properly means leaving kit in the field for whole seasons — often deep in woodland, on a fen edge or out on open moor where there's no power and barely a signal. Our conservation kit is built for exactly that. Solar-charged 4G trail cameras handle species ID, nest and sett watching and population counts; LoRa and 4G GPS collars follow animals across the holding; and a LoRaWAN sensor mesh keeps tabs on the habitat itself — water, ground and air. Everything runs quiet, dark and camouflaged so the animals carry on as if it weren't there, and reports back to your phone so you're not forever trudging out to swap cards.

Which SIM and data plan suits a survey site?
Our 4G trail cameras and GPS collars run on any UK network — EE, Vodafone, O2 or Three — so you can fit your own SIM or take a ready-configured one from us. A busy trail camera on a productive sett or feeding site uses roughly 5–20 GB a month depending on how much it triggers, while a GPS collar generally stays under 2 GB.
For an active camera location we'd point you at a data-only SIM with at least 10 GB. Some collars carry dual-SIM failover, hopping to a second network automatically when the first drops — worth having out on patchy moorland and valley-bottom woodland where one provider alone won't cut it.
Frequently asked questions
Will the kit disturb the animals?
No. The trail cameras use no-glow infrared, make no noise and sit in camouflaged housings, so even wary species pass them without reacting.
Does it work out on remote ground with no signal?
Yes. Where there's mobile coverage the 4G cameras report straight away; where there isn't, LoRa cameras and collars reach a gateway sited up to several kilometres off, well beyond the mobile network.
Do you supply trusts and reserves rather than just farms?
Yes. We work with wildlife trusts, estate keepers, university field teams, RSPB and partnership projects and individual conservationists, with bulk, project and academic pricing available.
How long does everything run before a visit?
Solar trail cameras typically manage 6–12 months, GPS collars 1–2 years and LoRa habitat sensors anywhere from 3 to 10 years — so site trips are about the survey, not battery swaps.
Can I check the cameras without going out to them?
Yes. The 4G trail cameras push photos and video to your phone or laptop over the cloud, so you can follow nest activity or a sett from the office and only walk out when it matters.
What if part of the reserve has no mobile signal at all?
Use LoRa cameras that send images back to a local gateway, or fall back to onboard SD storage and collect the footage on your next round of the ground.
Do I need planning permission to put these out?
Usually not — trail cameras and sensors count as temporary monitoring equipment. On designated or protected sites, clear it with the landowner, managing body or local authority first, especially around protected species.
